Scent Reviews: Bathed & Infused #1

From what I know, the entire bath&body world has been going quite crazy over the Bathed & Infused sale. And who wouldn’t? If I wasn’t on a strict no-buy, I would have been going crazy as well. The B&I site would be 24/7 on my Firefox and I would have Google right next to it, googling for scent reviews. Which dawned on me that I haven’t posted up any B&I scent reviews on this blog yet despite already adding my thoughts to the Scent Reviews section on the B&I forums! Sorry, blame it on a crazy college workload and my inability to keep up!

So I will be posting them up in different series, according to the products that I received them in because some of the scents behave differently in different mediums, so how I describe them may be different as to how it will be other products.

(Note: This reviews are based on my body chemistry and my nose, which are unique factors that causes different scents to become differently on different people. So don’t write off a scent just because I did, it might work on you!)

Today, I will be reviewing the paddles! Paddles are the B&I version of samples, you can get 2 free with each order while extra ones will cost you $0.99 each! They look like this!

They say: One of our all-time best sellers. A heady blend of black roses, dirt, and grave moss. A dark, mysterious scent that keeps your deepest secrets. Don’t let the name scare you away from this beautiful fragrance

I agree, don’t let the name put you off because Funeral is awesome. I immediately smelt the rose note in this fragrance. I am not sure how dirt and moss would smell like but I immediately realised that it’s a perfect foil to the rose note, which can often go overboard in other fragrances. I would so totally wear this on days that I am feeling mysterious and dark. My love for this fragrance meant that I reordered this in roll-on!

French Lime Blossom (Jo Malone Type)

They say: Jo Malone said that this lovely scent was inspired by a stroll along the Champs Elysees , and we can see why. The scent of sweet lime blossoms mixed with a twist of bergamot and tarragong this romantic blend is both citrusy and floral at the same time.

I could smell the blossoms but I couldn’t smell the lime note in this. I was hoping for a bit more lime actually. When I posted my review on the forums, one of the regulars told me I could request for more lime in my blend if I wanted more of it. During the Christmas sale, I bought this in a roll-on for my Mummy because she’s a floral freak!

Trick or Treat (Limited Edition – Halloween’08)

They say: What kid didn’t want to eat every single piece of candy they got after a successful night of Trick or Treating? We take Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Oreos, Kit Kats, Caramels and Candy Corn and mix them up with some Vanilla Ice Cream for the perfect tummy-ache inducing blend.

Basically, I just smell a lot of chocolate in this and it doesn’t make my tummy ache but my teeth does! This is definitely a dentist’s worst nightmare come true!

Witching Hour

They say: The night has come and as most of the world sleeps, there is something lurking in the dark. Rich patchouli, jasmine, rose, amber, musk, vanilla bean and a hint of ozone.

This is really strong! I could smell it even without opening up the plastic. I smell mainly patchouli and incense. It isn’t a turn you off kind of incense though but an incense that makes you feel relaxed. Probably not what I would use as a perfume but more as a linen or room kind of scent.

They say: Sushi tonight? How could you resist? Langsat fruit, white peach, ginger, lotus flower, lily of the valley, vanilla, and musk make up our version of Fresh’s Sake Bath. Smells so good you’ll want to order the big bottle.

I have no idea what Sake or Fresh Sake smells like but this is a fresh, citrus type scent that I would totally wear light-hearted days. I can’t discern the notes and I have no idea how Langsat Fruit smells like. Lol! I would totally re-order this in a Body Mist or Roll-on!

Vodka & Redbull

They say: A favourite cocktail for a night of clubbing. Like the vodka, our scent will intoxicate you, then rev you up with the energy of Red Bull. We also think it smells like SweetTarts candy. Dance all night long!

First thought, Wow! This scent is strong! It’s a predominantly fruity scent but in my opinion, I don’t think it smells like straight up Red Bull. It resembles RB and would make you think of RB but it is not RB. I am also getting some of the vodka because I smell a little bitterness. It’s not a boozey note but rather it adds another dimension to the RB, keeping it from being too sweet and fruity. I quite like it and this would probably be nice in a body mist.

I hope this helps, until the next series! 🙂
